San Animal Santuario
Registered charity no. 10.286/1
San Animal Santuario is a Registered Charity started in 2010, set up by a group of animal lovers who share the desire to make a difference to abandoned cats and dogs in the Aguilas, Lorca and surrounding areas of south-east Spain. Since forming, we have been successful in the homing of many cats and dogs, largely helped by generous donations from our supporters and the general public.
Our small emergency dog shelter is set amid the beautiful countryside surrounding Aguilas. We can hold up to 5 dogs, until they find their forever family. Please take a look at the Hall of Fame and contact us for further information, if you think that you could provide a loving, permanent home.

Rudi is a German Shepherd cross around 7 years old who has had a very traumatic time. He was found by the police, abandoned on the beach in Aguilas with the most horrendous infection in both ears. This infection had been left untreated for so long he had to undergo a series of operations to remove the infected bone. He has recovered well and is now ready for a new loving home. He would be best in a home without other dogs but is a very affectionate dog who loves cuddles and being brushed by all our volunteers. If you fancy giving him a home or just taking him for a walk please contact us using details below.
Medium sized dog, about a year old. A very lively, lovable boy who needs some firm training.
Small dog, born in June 2015, good with other dogs, castrated and ready for forever home. She has Leishmaniasis but this is under control with daily tablets.
Rosie – born in August 2018 and found abandoned in San Juan with her sister. Currently in a foster home with several other dogs and a cat.
Ruby – born in August 2018 and found abandoned in San Juan with her sister. Currently in a foster home with several other dogs.
Desperately Seeking Foster Homes
We feel that the best option for our dogs is live in a foster home before they find their forever homes but are currently short of fosterers. Foster placements can be for an agreed fixed period or on an ongoing basis. San Animal will cover all the expenses associated with the dog (vets bills, food etc) and can also arrange to provide holiday cover. Please consider taking a dog into your home – you can change its life.
If you would like to meet our dogs or be a fosterer please call or WhatsApp us on our dedicated phone - 675 46 76 47 - through our Facebook page 'San Animal Santuario' or via email to email@example.com
